Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026.

Shipwrecked (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “Shipwrecked”) operates this website (the “Site”) to promote and manage our tiki-themed social event and bazaar in Marina del Rey, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We are a casual, independently-run event — but we take the handling of your information seriously.

1. Who We Are

Shipwrecked is organized on an informal basis with no separate legal entity. For any questions about this policy or your information, you can reach us via our Instagram account.

2. Information We Collect

a) Vendor Application Information

If you apply to be a vendor at our event, we collect the information you submit through our vendor application form (built with Gravity Forms), which may include:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Description of your business
  • Links to your social media accounts
  • A logo file upload

This information is used solely to review, process, and communicate with you about your vendor application. It is not used for marketing, sold, or shared with third parties outside the purposes described in this policy.

We do not collect payment information through this form, and the Site does not process ticket sales or payments of any kind.

b) Information Collected Automatically

When you browse the Site, some technical information is collected automatically through analytics tools:

  • Independent Analytics — a self-hosted analytics plugin that stores visit data (such as pages viewed, referring source, and approximate location derived from IP address) directly in our own website database. This data is never transmitted to, or processed by, any third-party service — it stays on our server.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., pages viewed, session duration, device type, general geographic region). GA4 does not store full IP addresses. We do not use Google Signals, Google Ads, or any remarketing/advertising features — Google Analytics is used strictly for site-usage measurement.

We do not use social media tracking pixels, embedded social feeds, or advertising trackers of any kind.

3. Cookies

The Site uses a limited number of cookies, primarily set by Google Analytics, to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Review and respond to vendor applications
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
  • Communicate with vendors about event logistics

We do not use your information for advertising, do not build marketing profiles, and do not sell or share personal information with third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

  • As required by law (e.g., in response to a valid legal request)
  • With service providers who help us operate the Site (e.g., our web hosting provider), solely to the extent necessary to run the Site

6. Data Retention

  • Vendor application data is retained for as long as reasonably needed to evaluate your application and plan the event, and is deleted or archived after the relevant event cycle unless you ask us to keep it on file for future events.
  • Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of each tool (Independent Analytics data remains in our own database indefinitely unless manually cleared; Google Analytics data is retained per Google’s standard GA4 retention settings).

7. Your Privacy Choices

Although Shipwrecked is a small, local operation and may not meet the legal thresholds that trigger formal obligations under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), we want to be transparent about your choices:

  • Access or deletion: You may request a copy of, or ask us to delete, any personal information you’ve submitted (such as a vendor application) by contacting us via our Instagram account.
  • Opt-out of analytics: You can use browser extensions (such as Google’s opt-out add-on) or your browser’s “Do Not Track” / cookie-blocking settings to limit analytics tracking.
  • No sale of personal information: We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is no “opt-out of sale” mechanism needed.

8. Age Restriction

Our event and vendor application process are intended for adults only. You must be 18 years of age or older to submit a vendor application or otherwise provide personal information through this Site. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us via our Instagram account and we will delete it.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information submitted through the Site, including relying on our hosting provider’s security practices and limiting access to submitted data to the event organizer(s). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in how the Site operates. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
